Sleeps up to 12 adults. Master bedroom (king size bed 71") with full en suite (including oversized sunken bathtub). Bedrooms 2 through 6 all have en suite bathrooms (sink, WC, bathtub) and differ in their individual décor and beds: 1 king (71"), 1 twin french bed (53"), 2 twin beds (36") and 1 double futon low bed (65"). Staff room off of kitchen not available to guests. Living Space Large, high-ceiling living and dining area features comfortable sofas and chairs, two dining tables, fireplace, flat screen TV and state-of-the-art stereo and sound system. Outdoors Terraces and gardens surround the courtyard swimming pool (approx. 40`x 20`); covered dining and sitting areas with teak chaise lounges. Household Amenities Flat screen TV with satellite, ADSL internet & WIFI, DVD, CD/stereo, fax. Fully-equipped kitchen. Washer & dryer. House cook and staff. Notable Features Zen-like, contemporary décor in inventive conversion of school house. Village setting with privacy. Excellent proximity to villages and reputed wine regions. Located in spa town. Public school students from the 1960s would scarcely recognize their former 6-room schoolhouse, transformed as it has been into the contemporary private residence, La Scuola. The adaptation of La Scuola is the work of a noted English designer who created a chic retreat for up to 12 adult friends.
After passing under the school’s original flag and through the wide front door, you will find yourself before a long hallway, which runs through the house like an elegant nave. Almost immediately, your gaze will turn to the spacious living/dining rooms centered on an impressive modern fireplace. It’s hard to imagine this was once the staff meeting room! However, La Scuola’s real focal point is its U-shaped courtyard and swimming pool with a long covered “loggia” that protects the terrace from the midday Tuscan sun. Situated right in the fabulous spa town of San Casciano dei Bagni, this villa is one of our signature 5-laurel properties, meaning that it combines the very best of regional character, amenities, location, and overall excellence.
