Here's the dilemma many cyclists face today.
Performance Riders: "How can we take a cycling vacation with our spouses without them getting annoyed because the rides we'll want to do are too long, too fast and too hilly?"
Recreational Riders: "How can we go on a cycling vacation with our spouses without them getting annoyed because they'll find rides we'll want to do are too short, too slow, too flat and we'll want to stop and visit the market, visit a church, and take lots of pictures?"
Non-Riders: "How can we join in the week's fun without getting on a bike? We'd rather explore town, go for a hike, hang by the pool, play with the children, visit the local market.... Have fun you guys! See you for the winetasting at 5"
Road biking has boomed in popularity in the last ten years. For cyclists of all stripes -- from high performance triathlete to round-the-block Sunday pedalers -- a week cycling in Europe should definitely be on your bucket list.

The problem with most organized bike trips, though, is that they are either too tough or too slack for most couples to enjoy together. A 25 mile max recreational cyclist (or non-cyclist) is not going to feel welcome on a TransAlp expedition or a serious Majorca training camp. A strong cyclist, who wants to get in 80+miles each day, is not going to be satisfied with a cushy, slow-paced hotel bike trip.

Or, their fixed dates don't work for your private group's schedule.

A customized Ensemble Cycling Stay works for riders of all skill levels, whenever suits your group.

On a typical day, the keener group can take off early for a brisk 100 miles (chosen from our Ride Guide of routes). Non-cyclists might visit the local market, hike or hang by the pool with a book and coffee.  The "Cappuccino" pace group can do a leisurely 30 miles, with café breaks and maybe a market visit. Then you can all rendezvous for, say, a picnic lunch we've organized at a local vineyard. And in the afternoon, you can all put the bikes aside and join your "Local Host" on your custom itinerary of markets, historic sites, wine tasting, our favorite restaurants...

Just pick your preferred season and dates and, with the expert guidance of one of our Cycling Specialist, choose the perfect region and villa (from 3 bedrooms to 9 bedrooms.) Our European travel experts do the rest – arrange excellent rental road bikes (or shipping of your own), chefs, transfers, routes and maps, cycling guides, non-cycling activities. Its a 100% custom cycling vacation for your group. You just have to show up ready to ride. Or to just relax -- it's a cycling vacation exactly as you like it.)
